Overview
Six temperature presets separate this Hamilton Beach kettle from a basic boil-only model, useful for households that split time between delicate teas and French press coffee. At 1.7 liters and 1500 watts, it suits anyone who wants water heated to a specific point rather than always full boil.
The temperature presets are the reason to pick this over a basic kettle, since delicate teas and pour-over coffee both benefit from water short of a full boil. Owners who have run one for years report it keeps heating fine, though the plastic lid latch is the part most likely to wear out over time.
- 1500 watt element for fast heating
- 6 temperature presets from delicate to boiling
- 30-minute keep-warm setting
- Auto shutoff with boil-dry protection
Who it's for
Tea drinkers who want more than one water temperature will get the most from this kettle, and it works equally well for households mixing tea and coffee habits. It's a weaker fit for anyone pouring straight from a full fridge pitcher, since the narrow opening makes that awkward.
Pros and cons
- Narrow opening makes pouring from a fridge pitcher awkward
- Lid latch mechanism can wear out before the heating element does
- Manufacturer support runs through email only, which some found slow
