Overview
This is a modular playpen built from clear acrylic panels rather than a wire crate, despite how Amazon files it. Panels link with tie closures to form roughly 20 square feet of enclosed space, suited to small dogs, rabbits, kittens and other small animals kept indoors.
Listed under dog crates, this is actually a playpen: transparent acrylic panels instead of a solid box, so it suits owners who want visibility into the pen rather than a den-like enclosure. Assembly is required and the panels tie together, which means setup time before first use. At 60 x 40 x 18 inches assembled it covers about 20 square feet, sized for small breeds and similarly small pets rather than a full grown dog.
- Clear acrylic panel construction
- 28 x 20 inch panel style, 60 x 40 x 18 in assembled
- Tie closure, plastic material
- Rated for dogs, rabbits, kittens and cats
Who it's for
Fits owners of small dogs, rabbits, kittens or bunnies who want an indoor enclosure with clear sightlines rather than a solid-walled crate. Less suited to larger or more athletic dogs given the 18 inch panel height.
Pros and cons
- Clear panels keep the pet visible
- Portable and can be broken down
- About 20 sq ft of enclosed space
- Assembly required before use
- 18 inch height limits which pets it contains
- Tie closures rather than locking latches
Performance notes
The acrylic panels tie together to form the enclosure, so hold on the fabric ties determines how secure the pen feels once assembled. At 18 inches tall it contains small animals but is not built to stop a dog that can jump or push through fabric ties.
