Overview
Not a plastic entry level box, the Audient interface has an all-metal desktop housing around a Class A mic preamp taken from the brand's large format console. A USB-C connection powers it, and monitor mix and panning controls handle what you hear.
Preamp quality is the selling point, giving clean vocals and instruments for a single recording setup. Two headphone outputs let a second person listen. The listing omits the sample rate and exact input layout.
Who it's for
Singer songwriters, podcasters and producers recording one source at a time on a Mac, PC or iPad. Bands tracking drums or groups need more inputs.
Pros and cons
- Console derived Class A preamp
- Two headphone outputs
- Sturdy metal housing
- USB-C cable included

Performance notes
Preamp noise and headroom decide how clean quiet voices and acoustic instruments record. USB-C supplies power and data in one cable. Monitor mix and panning help set a comfortable blend of input and playback while tracking.
