Overview
Not a basic clip-guard trimmer, the Philips Norelco Series nine thousand uses a zoom wheel to lock in exact lengths and a Beard Sense motor built for an even trim in each pass. Full steel blades and head cut dense hair quickly.
Philips Norelco puts precision first, with fine length steps and a waterproof steel body that trims beards, sideburns, neck and even head hair. There is only one guard, so the zoom wheel does all the length work.
Who it's for
Men who hold a precise beard length and want shower-safe trimming. Those who want a clean shave should look at a foil shaver instead.
Pros and cons
- Precise zoom-wheel lengths
- Long cordless run time
- Waterproof for shower use
- Self-sharpening steel blades
- Only one guard attachment
- Not a clean-shave tool
Performance notes
Full steel blades and head cut each hair cleanly, which limits pulling and irritation. Self-sharpening edges cut more hairs per pass on dense growth. The zoom wheel moves the single guard in small steps, so length changes are precise.
