Overview
A player who wants a smaller semi-hollow with warm, punchy tone and sustain gets this Artcore model in black. It has a basswood body, a linden top and humbuckers in a two-pickup layout.
The reason to look at it is the compact body, which the maker says feels familiar to players of slimmer electrics, plus pickups known in jazz circles. The limitation is the right-hand orientation, and the listing gives no setup or case information.
Who it's for
Players who want the semi-hollow sound without a large body will see the point of this model. Left-handed players, and anyone who needs a case or documented setup, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Compact semi-hollow body
- Macassar ebony fretboard
- Super 58 humbuckers
- Three-piece nyatoh and maple neck
- Setup and case not described
- Material field says stainless steel
Performance notes
The hollow chambers give warmth, and the humbuckers supply a balanced, articulate response with strong sustain. The tremolo bridge lets the player move the pitch of all strings together. A medium body size makes the instrument manageable on the lap or strap.
