Overview
The Signature BF-VNL plates are vinyl-coated weight plates sold as a set of 2, black in color, with a combined item weight of 10 pounds for the pair. The vinyl coating is typically used to protect floors and reduce noise compared with bare iron plates.
Because the listing gives a single 10 pound item weight for a set of 2 plates rather than a per-plate figure, buyers should confirm on the listing whether that means two 5 pound plates or a different split before ordering for a specific setup. Vinyl-coated plates like these are generally aimed at home use and light dumbbell or barbell loading rather than heavy competition lifting.
- Vinyl-coated plate pair
- 10 pounds combined item weight
- Black finish
Who it's for
Home lifters building a light plate collection for dumbbells or a barbell, particularly where floor protection and quieter handling matter more than heavy load capacity.
Pros and cons
- Vinyl coating protects floors and reduces noise
- Sold as a matched pair
- Compact 10 pound combined weight suits light training
- Listing does not clearly state per-plate weight for the pair
Performance notes
Vinyl coating over the plate core cushions impact when set down and resists the chipping that bare cast iron can suffer, at the cost of being less durable than solid iron under heavy repeated use.
