Overview
Bedroom walls, desk edges and the back of a TV are where this Govee strip does its work, washing the surface with shifting color. Its RGBIC design shows several colors along one line at the same time, and a phone app over Bluetooth sets colors and timers.
Running several colors at once on a single strip gives livelier effects than a one-color strip. Control depends on Bluetooth range from a phone, and the strip is rated for indoor use only, so porches and bathrooms are out.
Who it's for
Suited to decorating a single room, a party space or a TV backdrop with moving color. Those wanting lights outdoors or in a wet area should choose a strip rated for it.
Pros and cons
- Several colors at once on one strip
- Phone app sets colors and timers
- Power adapter and control box included
- Modern look for parties and decor
- Bluetooth only, phone must be nearby
- Not water resistant, indoor use only
- Adhesive backing not listed
- Corded, needs a nearby outlet
Performance notes
Color and brightness come from the LEDs spaced along the strip, driven by the control box. Bluetooth control means the phone must be near the strip to change scenes, while the timer switches it on and off without the phone. Surface prep matters for mounting, since the listing does not describe the backing.
