ELAC Uni-Fi Reference UCR52 Center Channel Speaker

Overview

The Elac UCR52-BK is a floor mounted speaker with a 5.25 inch driver, listed for both center channel and woofer duty in a home theater layout. It adds Bluetooth connectivity and comes finished in black and walnut.

At 12 x 18.5 x 25 inches and just under 30 lb, this sits between a compact tower and a large stand mounted speaker, built for placement on the floor rather than a shelf or wall bracket. ELAC lists it for two different roles, center channel and woofer, so the exact use will depend on how a system is configured. Bluetooth adds a wireless option alongside whatever wired inputs the amplifier provides.

• 5.25 inch driver
• Center channel or woofer role
• Bluetooth connectivity
• Black/walnut floor mount design

Who it's for

Fits a home theater builder who needs a floor standing speaker that can flex between center channel duty and low end reinforcement. Less suited to anyone needing a compact bookshelf or in wall speaker.

Pros and cons

Performance notes

The 5.25 inch driver anchors either the center channel dialogue duties or low frequency support depending on placement in the system. Bluetooth lets it pair without running a speaker wire from every source. Floor mounting at nearly 30 lb keeps it stable without wall or stand hardware.
