Overview
A 20-ounce pour-over set from Bodum pairing a borosilicate glass carafe with a stainless steel dripper cone and matching lid, so grounds sit above the carafe while hot water filters through slowly.
The permanent stainless steel filter means there is no ongoing cost for paper filters, and Bodum's design lets you watch the coffee brew through the glass.
- 20-ounce borosilicate glass carafe
- Permanent stainless steel filter cone
- Matching carafe lid included
- Smooth curved handle for grip
Who it's for
Suits someone who wants a manual pour-over brewer with a reusable metal filter rather than paper, and likes being able to see the coffee as it drips. Not for anyone wanting a plunger-style French press, since this is a drip design.
Pros and cons
- Permanent metal filter, no paper filters to rebuy
- Borosilicate glass carafe handles hot water
- Curved handle stays comfortable to hold
- Metal filter lets more sediment through than paper
Performance notes
Water passes slowly through the stainless steel filter and grounds bed into the glass carafe below, a pace the listing says helps develop aroma more fully than a fast pour. Because the filter is metal rather than paper, more of the coffee's natural oils pass through, which typically produces a heavier body than a paper-filtered cup.
