Overview
A fillet knife from SORD sold with a sheath, listed under a parent product code that spans more than one blade option, including a 9 inch size and a separate 7 inch medium-flex reference.
The model code FBA-PARENT and two overlapping size fields, one reading 9 inches and another reading 7 inch medium flex, point to this being a parent listing that groups several blade-length or flex variants rather than describing one fixed knife. Flex matters on a fillet blade because it governs how closely the edge can follow a fish's spine and ribs while cutting.
- Fiberglass handle
- 9 inch and 7 inch medium-flex options referenced
- Sheath included
- 12.5 inch overall length listed
Who it's for
Anglers who fillet their own catch and want a choice of blade length or flex within one SORD product line, sheath included.
Pros and cons
- Sheath included for storage
- Choice of blade length within the line
- Size labeling across fields is inconsistent, confirm the exact blade length before buying
- No blade steel type specified
Performance notes
Medium flex on a fillet blade trades some rigidity for the ability to bend around bone, which is the tradeoff to weigh against a stiffer blade when deciding on a variant.
