Overview
Gretsch builds this Electromatic as a hollowbody double-cut with twelve strings, Filter'Tron humbucking pickups and an Adjusto-matic bridge on a pinned laurel base. Gold-plated die-cast tuners finish the headstock.
The reason to look at it is the Filter'Tron voice and the twelve string layout in a hollowbody, which aim at classic jangle. The limitation is that neck wood, scale length, orientation and case are all missing from the specs.
Who it's for
Players chasing a jangly twelve string sound with a hollowbody feel will see the point. Buyers who need documented neck dimensions, a left-hand option or a case should ask before buying.
Pros and cons
- Twelve string layout
- Filter'Tron humbucking pickups
- Gold-plated die-cast tuners
- Hand orientation unstated
- Neck and scale details unstated
- Case and strings unstated
Performance notes
The humbucking pickups capture output and sustain without hum, and the hollow body adds resonance to the doubled strings. The bridge adjusts string height and intonation. Redesigned bracing inside the body is meant to improve how the top vibrates.
