Overview
A dedicated bridge and tailpiece anchors the string set on this Artcore, whose laminate linden top and back give the semi hollow body its resonance. A pair of humbucking pickups feeds a quarter inch audio jack.
Paired strings add shimmer that a standard set cannot match, and the humbuckers are meant to tame the hum that early hollow designs suffered from. Extras are absent, so the listing offers the instrument and nothing more.
Who it's for
Aimed at a guitarist who already owns a six string and wants a second voice for layered, ringing parts. Beginners wary of tuning twice the strings, or players needing accessories, may find it a stretch.
Pros and cons
- Paired string shimmer
- Semi hollow resonance
- Guitar only, no accessories
- Paired strings take longer to tune
- Right handed only listed
Performance notes
A laminate linden semi hollow body adds air and warmth, while humbucking pickups cut hum and give focused highs with growling lows. Doubled strings create the chiming, chorus-like tone, and the matching bridge holds them aligned so intonation holds across the neck.
