Overview
The MontVoo outdoor rug is a 5x8 foot reversible mat woven from recycled plastic straw, built for patios, balconies, RVs, and beach or camping use. It comes in a boho grey geometric pattern with a UV coating and bound edges.
Because it is woven rather than tufted, dirt and sand fall through or rinse off rather than embedding in a pile, which is the practical reason these plastic straw rugs get sold for camping and RV use as much as for patios. The UV coating is meant to slow fading from sun exposure, and the reversible design means a worn or stained side can simply be flipped rather than replaced.
- 5x8 feet, reversible boho geometric pattern
- Woven recycled plastic straw construction
- UV coating and thermoplastic edge binding
- Folds flat for storage and travel
Who it's for
Fits anyone furnishing a patio, balcony, or RV site who wants a rug that can live outdoors full time and be hosed off. Less suited to anyone wanting the texture and cushioning of a woven fiber indoor-style rug, since plastic straw has a flatter, firmer feel.
Pros and cons
- Reversible for two looks or to hide wear on one side
- Rinses or shakes clean rather than needing a scrub
- UV coating targeted at reducing sun fading
- Folds for RV, picnic, or beach trips
- Firmer, flatter feel than a traditional fiber rug
- 5x8 size does not include carrier bag or stakes
Performance notes
The tubular plastic straw weave lets water, sand, and dirt pass through or wipe away instead of soaking in, so cleanup is typically a rinse or a shake rather than a scrub. The UV coating and thermoplastic edge binding are meant to resist the fading and fraying that outdoor textiles usually suffer, and folding along its built-in fold lines keeps it packable for RV trips or picnics.
