Overview
Woven from plastic straw material rather than fabric, this HappyTrends rug is a 5x8 foot reversible mat built for patios, decks, RVs and campsites where waterproofing and foldability matter more than a plush indoor feel.
The straw-weave construction is what makes it foldable and packable for camping or beach trips, unlike a heavier woven outdoor rug meant to stay in one place. Being reversible also means both sides can be used as the rug wears, effectively doubling its usable life before the surface pattern fades.
- 5 x 8 ft reversible design
- Waterproof plastic straw weave
- Foldable for camping or travel
- UV-stabilized against fading
Who it's for
Anyone wanting a portable, wipeable rug for a patio, RV site or campsite rather than a permanent, plush outdoor rug should consider this. Buyers wanting cushioned underfoot comfort should look at a fabric option instead, since the straw weave is firmer.
Pros and cons
- Reversible, doubling wear life before fading shows
- Folds compactly for camping or beach trips
- Wipes or hoses clean, resists moisture and stains
- UV-stabilized to resist fading
- Plastic straw texture is firmer than a fabric outdoor rug
Performance notes
Multiple fold lines built into the weave let the rug pack down small for transport, and the plastic straw material sheds water and stains rather than absorbing them, so cleanup is a wipe or a hose-down rather than a wash. UV stabilization in the material is meant to slow color fading from repeated sun exposure.
