Overview
The EGO Power+ CS1611 is a cordless 16-inch electric chainsaw rated at roughly 40cc gas-equivalent output, sold complete with a 56V 2.5Ah battery and charger. It targets homeowners who want gas-saw cutting power without mixed fuel, pull cords or exhaust fumes.
EGO markets this at up to 130 cuts through a 4x4 on one charge of the included 2.5Ah pack, though hardwood or repeated bucking will pull that number down. The auto-oiler and spill-free reservoir remove the mess of a manual oil pump, and tool-free tensioning means the chain can be tightened mid-job without a wrench. IPX4 covers splashing rain, not a hose-down or submersion, so treat it like any other outdoor power tool.
- 56V 2.5Ah battery and charger included
- 16-inch bar rated for up to 130 cuts on a 4x4
- Tool-free chain tensioning system
- Automatic, spill-free bar oiling
Who it's for
Suited to homeowners doing yard cleanup, firewood processing or occasional storm work who want a gas-saw feel without the maintenance. A commercial crew felling all day would want a bigger battery than the single 2.5Ah pack included here.
Pros and cons
- No gas, oil mix or pull-start needed
- Tool-free chain tensioning mid-cut
- Automatic bar oiling with spill-free reservoir
- Battery and charger included in the box
- IPX4 only covers light rain, not hose-down
- Single 2.5Ah battery limits cuts before recharge
- 16-inch bar caps trunk diameter it can handle
Performance notes
The 20 m/s chain speed and 3/8-inch pitch, .043-inch gauge, 52-drive-link chain are sized for a 16-inch bar rather than heavy timber. Automatic oiling keeps the bar lubricated without the operator pumping a bulb, and the tool-free tensioner lets the chain be re-tightened as it stretches during a cutting session. The low-kickback chain and brake indicator are the safety features EGO carries over from its gas-saw line.
