Overview
A quiet yoga or meditation room is where this tongue drum feels at home. It has an alloy steel body painted navy blue, notes tuned to D Major and a set of mallets, a music book and a carry bag.
The reason to consider it is the large note count and the starter extras, which let a newcomer begin on a known scale. The limitation is the brief warranty and the inconsistent material entries.
Who it's for
Beginners, meditators and gift givers who like a calm, pre-tuned instrument will find it easy to start. Players who need a different scale, or who want a longer warranty, should look at another drum.
Pros and cons
- Pre-tuned D Major scale
- Music book included
- Carry bag included
- Material listed two ways
- Dimensions beyond diameter absent
Performance notes
Each tongue on the steel body is cut to a set pitch, so a mallet strike gives a clear note, and the D Major scale holds the notes in tune with one another. The painted alloy steel body produces a balanced, soothing sound. The music book supplies tunes to start with.
