Overview
Homeowners and renters who want cameras without running wires get three battery powered Nest Cams that snap onto magnetic mounts indoors or out. Alerts come through the Google Home app, sorted into people, animals and vehicles.
Buy this pack to cover a front door, driveway and backyard without an electrician, with smart alerts that cut down on pointless pings. Free history is short, so longer recording means a Nest Aware subscription.
Who it's for
Renters and homeowners who cannot drill for power get flexible placement and smart alerts. People who want long recorded history without a subscription should check the Nest Aware terms before buying.
Pros and cons
- Wire free battery power
- Smart person, animal and vehicle alerts
- HDR and night vision
- Built-in microphone and speaker
- Short free event history
- Familiar face alerts need Nest Aware
- Batteries need periodic recharging
- Stand and weatherproof cable sold separately
Performance notes
Alerts come from built-in intelligence that classifies people, animals and vehicles, so you can limit pings to what matters. HDR handles bright sun and harsh contrast, and night vision lights the scene in darkness. Video reaches the Google Home app over Wi-Fi.
