Overview
Zoom fits four mic preamps with phantom power into this small, light interface. A single switch flips between Music mode for separate DAW tracks and Streaming mode that blends every input, and hardware switches handle loopback and monitoring.
Four inputs in a portable, battery capable box is why to buy it, a good match for podcasts with several hosts. It does not list box contents, and tablets need an external supply or batteries.
Who it's for
Multi host podcasters, streamers and small bands recording rehearsals will use the four inputs. Large studios need an interface with ADAT expansion.
Pros and cons
- Four mic preamps
- Streaming mode merges inputs
- Loopback without software
- Runs on AA batteries
- Box contents not listed
- Tablets need extra power
Performance notes
Music mode sends each input to its own track, while Streaming mode sums them into one feed for livestream apps. Loopback mixes computer audio in without software. Battery operation frees it from a wall outlet for field recording.
