Overview
Minolta packs infrared night vision into this handheld camcorder so it records in the dark, alongside daytime video and time lapse. A touchscreen controls it, and the box includes a memory card, remote and lens cap.
Night vision and a complete kit make it easy to start recording wildlife, kids or events after dark. Zoom is digital and focus is fixed, which limits sharpness compared with optical zoom camcorders.
Who it's for
Parents and hobbyists who want easy recording day and night will use the night vision. Serious videographers need optical zoom and better low light sensors.
Pros and cons
- Infrared night vision
- Memory card included
- Remote control included
- Time lapse mode
- Digital zoom only
- Video resolution listed two ways
- Low frame rate at top resolution
Performance notes
Infrared LEDs light subjects invisibly, so night footage is monochrome but visible. Digital zoom crops the sensor, reducing detail as you zoom in. Digital stabilization smooths handheld shake but crops the frame slightly.
