Overview
Amazon's 7-inch Fire tablet built for kids ages 3 to 7, sold as a bundle with a kid-proof case and a 1-year Amazon Kids+ subscription. It ships in 16GB or 32GB storage with a microSD slot for up to 1TB more.
The bundle price folds in what would otherwise be separate purchases: the tablet, the case and a year of Kids+ content. Amazon also backs the tablet with a 2-year no-cost replacement if it breaks.
- For ages 3-7, 7-inch screen
- 16GB or 32GB, expandable to 1TB via microSD
- Up to 10-hour battery
- 1-year Amazon Kids+ and kid-proof case included
Who it's for
Built for parents handing a first tablet to a preschooler or early-elementary child who needs content filtering and time limits rather than open internet access. Older kids who want full app store access or a faster tablet will outgrow it.
Pros and cons
- Kid-proof case and Kids+ subscription bundled in
- 2-year free replacement if it breaks
- Parent Dashboard sets filters and time limits
- 16GB base storage is tight without a microSD card
- Not built for kids past early elementary age
Performance notes
Battery is rated for up to 10 hours, and the Parent Dashboard is the control center: it sets content filters by age, daily time limits, and can grant access to outside apps like Netflix and Disney+. Storage starts at 16GB but expands with a microSD card, which matters since kids' apps and downloaded video add up fast.
