Overview
ASUS pairs a six gigahertz band with free lifetime network security on this tri-band router. Safe Browsing filters explicit search results, and AiMesh links it with other ASUS routers for whole-home coverage.
Security and parental tools with no subscription are the standout for families. Only newer devices benefit from the extra band, and real speeds fall with walls and distance.
Who it's for
Households with kids, smart devices and newer phones get filtering, security and capacity in one box. Small apartments with older devices can use a simpler router.
Pros and cons
- Lifetime security subscription included
- Safe Browsing for kids
- Gains need newer client devices
- Coverage area not stated
Performance notes
Capacity rises because the new band adds clean channels, so busy homes see less congestion. Throughput and range drop with building materials and distance, as the maker notes.
