Overview
Not a kitchen caddy for scraps, the Vivosun CBIN-H220 is a large outdoor compost bin in HDPE plastic, built in a round shape for a backyard or lawn. Yard waste and food scraps go in, and the pile breaks down in place.
Large volume in a light HDPE shell makes this bin easy to place and move around a yard while holding a big load of leaves and scraps. The listing is thin: lid, vents, base and how it sets up are not described.
Who it's for
Gardeners with a large lawn and lots of yard waste get a big round bin that is easy to reposition. Small balconies and people who need a closed or turning composter should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Large volume for leaves and clippings
- Light HDPE body is easy to reposition
- Gloves come with the bin
- Round shape with no corners to clear
- Lid, vents and base not listed
- Large footprint needs open yard space
- No turning mechanism, pile mixed by hand
- Very little seller information to judge by
Performance notes
Composting speed in an open bin depends on the mix of green and brown material, moisture and how often the pile is turned by hand. A big pile holds heat once it is full, while a light plastic shell can shift in wind while it is still empty.
