Overview
Not a single bar with built-in bass, this LG model pairs a sound bar with a wireless subwoofer and adds up-firing height speakers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Meridian audio tuning and AI Sound Pro adjust the output to what is playing.
Height channels and Atmos decoding in a slim bar let movie soundtracks spread upward, and the separate subwoofer handles low end the bar cannot. The listing leaves out total power and the input ports, so check your TV hookup before ordering.
Who it's for
Aimed at a mid-size living room where movies and TV shows are the main use. Viewers wanting true rear surround or multiroom music over Wi-Fi should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Up-firing drivers for Atmos height effects
- Wireless subwoofer, no cable to the bar
- Dolby Vision video passthrough
- AI Sound Pro adjusts to content
- No rear surround speakers
- Wattage and input ports not listed
- Remote needs two AAA batteries
- Bluetooth only, no Wi-Fi listed
Performance notes
Height effects depend on the up-firing speakers reflecting sound off the ceiling, so a flat ceiling helps. The wireless subwoofer carries low frequencies so the slim bar can focus on dialogue and effects, and AI Sound Pro shifts levels to match the content.
