The heavy 8.8 pound weight in a small 9 x 6.25 inch footprint points to a dense press-style tool, though the exact material isn't confirmed.

Overview

Weighing a heavy 8.8 pounds in a compact 9 x 6.25 x 0.75 inch footprint, the Outset 66611 has the size to weight ratio of a dense press-style tool rather than a lightweight utensil.

Outset makes a range of grilling accessories, and the combination of a small flat footprint with substantial weight doesn't match typical plastic or thin stainless tools. It reads more like a press or weighted flattening tool, though the listing doesn't state the material or confirm the exact function.

Outset model 66611

Who it's for

For grill owners looking for a weighted flat tool, such as one used for pressing burgers or paninis on a grill. Not for anyone expecting a lightweight utensil, given the weight.

Pros and cons

Pros

Heavy weight suits pressing food flat on a grill
Compact footprint stores easily

Cons

Material not specified in the listing
Exact function not confirmed by the seller

Performance notes

A small footprint paired with 8.8 pounds means the weight is doing the work here, consistent with a press used to flatten food against a hot surface for even contact. The listing doesn't confirm the material, so whether it's cast iron or another dense metal isn't verified from the data.
