Overview
ASUS gives this router current-generation WiFi with wide channels and OFDMA to handle many phones, TVs and smart devices at once, plus built-in AiProtection Classic security. It joins an AiMesh network if you need more coverage later.
Modern WiFi with security and mesh expansion covers most households without extra subscriptions. Gigabit ports cap wired speeds below multi-gig plans.
Who it's for
Families with many phones, TVs and smart plugs will see steadier connections. Those paying for faster-than-gigabit internet need multi-gig ports.
Pros and cons
- WiFi 6 with OFDMA
- One-click travel VPN
- Compact and light
- Gigabit ports only
- Classic security tier
- Coverage area not stated
Performance notes
Capacity comes from OFDMA and MU-MIMO, which let the router serve many devices in the same moment instead of taking turns. Wide channels lift speeds for compatible devices at close range. Efficient scheduling also helps battery-powered smart gadgets last longer.
