Overview
A PrecisionCore print head sprays pigment ink in a heat-free process, so the printer can output large pages quickly. Paper loads from a tray, a document feeder handles scans, and a color touchscreen runs the menus.
The reason to buy is wide-format output with duplex printing and a full set of office functions in one machine. The limit is cartridge lock-in to genuine Epson supplies and a size that the listing never states.
Who it's for
Offices that print wide documents and need scanning and faxing from one machine are the audience. Home users who only print letter pages should look at a smaller printer.
Pros and cons
- Prints wide pages
- Automatic two-sided printing
- Document feeder for scanning
- Touchscreen and wireless setup
- Genuine Epson cartridges only
- Dimensions and weight unlisted
- One paper tray listed
Performance notes
The pigment inks and heat-free head are meant for fast output with durable prints. ISO speeds are measured under test conditions, so real times change with page complexity and system setup. The document feeder speeds up multi-page copying and scanning.
