Overview
Not a basic hub, this dock turns one USB-C port into two HDMI outputs, wired Ethernet, card slots and several USB ports. A metal body spreads heat, and a charging input passes power through to the laptop.
The reason to buy is dual 4K output and a full port spread aimed at Dell, HP and Lenovo laptops. The limit is that macOS mirrors the two displays, and the listing names no included cable or power items.
Who it's for
An office worker docking a Dell, HP or Lenovo laptop to a pair of displays each day is the intended user. Anyone on macOS who needs extended desktops across two monitors should look at another approach.
Pros and cons
- Two HDMI outputs
- Many ports in one body
- Wired Ethernet and card readers
- MacOS mirrors both monitors
- Included items not listed
- Compact body limits cable room
Performance notes
Both monitors and every other port share one USB-C connection, so heavy transfers and video compete for bandwidth. Video output needs a host port that carries display signals. Charging passes through, with some power used by the dock.
