Overview
A waterproof king size mattress protector made of 40 percent bamboo-derived rayon and 60 percent polyester, with a TPU waterproof membrane underneath. The deep pocket design stretches to fit mattresses from 8 to 21 inches thick, including memory foam, latex and innerspring. Machine washable on low heat.
The blend of rayon and polyester is what the listing points to for breathability, while the TPU membrane underneath does the actual waterproofing against sweat, spills and stains. That membrane is described as resisting liquid penetration rather than sealing against pooled liquid left sitting for a long time, which matters for anyone expecting it to be fully leakproof. The 8 to 21 inch stretchable pocket range is broad enough to cover most king mattresses without a separate depth purchase.
- TPU waterproof membrane
- 40% bamboo-derived rayon, 60% polyester face
- Stretchable deep pockets fit 8-21 inch mattresses
- Machine washable, low heat dry
Who it's for
King bed owners who want everyday protection against sweat and spills on a memory foam, latex or spring mattress from 8 to 21 inches deep. Not a fit for anyone who needs a protector rated for standing water or long-soak spills.
Pros and cons
- TPU membrane blocks sweat, spills and stains
- Deep, stretchable pockets fit 8 to 21 inch mattresses
- Breathable rayon-polyester face fabric
- Not rated for pooled or standing liquid left sitting
- Bleach voids the waterproof properties
Performance notes
The TPU waterproof membrane sits beneath the rayon-polyester face fabric and does the actual protecting, blocking sweat, spills and stains from reaching the mattress. The listing specifically warns against letting liquid pool on the surface for a long time, since that works against the membrane rather than with it. Deep, stretchable pockets accommodate mattresses from 8 to 21 inches, and the protector is machine washable with mild detergent, avoiding bleach to preserve the waterproof layer.
