Overview
A large house with dead spots upstairs and in the back yard is the setting for this Orbi kit, a main router plus two satellites forming one network. The tri band design gives the units their own wireless link back to the router.
A dedicated band for traffic between units holds speed up at the far satellites. Listing details are thin, so wired port counts and what ships with each unit need checking before relying on Ethernet at every spot.
Who it's for
Families with many phones, TVs and laptops spread over a big floor plan. Anyone needing several wired ports at each satellite should confirm the layout first.
Pros and cons
- Router plus two satellites
- Tri band design for unit links
- Large coverage area
- Internet security feature
- Port layout per unit not listed
- Wired ports at gigabit speed
- No bullets describing setup
Performance notes
Speed at the far satellites depends on the dedicated band carrying traffic between units, which frees the other bands for client devices. Satellite placement, roughly halfway to the weak zones, governs real coverage. Older devices connect at their own lower Wi-Fi limits.
