Overview
The DEWALT Atomic Compact Series DWHT38125S is a 25 foot tape measure built into a compact grip body, with an integrated finger brake and fractional blade graphics aimed at jobsite users who want easier one handed control.
DEWALT frames this model around the grip rather than the blade length: a body about 20 percent more compact than its comparison grip, plus a finger brake so the user can feather the blade's extension by touch. Fractional graphics on the blade and a durable coating round out the spec.
- 25 ft Atomic Compact Series tape measure
- Integrated finger brake
- Fractional blade graphics
Who it's for
Fits users who want a smaller, more compact grip on a full 25 foot tape and like having a finger brake to control the blade during extension. Less relevant to anyone who does not care about grip size and just wants the longest possible standout.
Pros and cons
- Integrated finger brake for blade control
- Compact grip body for easier handling
- Fractional blade graphics
- Durable blade coating
- 13 ft max reach is shorter than some competing 25 ft tapes
- The compact grip claim is relative to an unspecified prior DEWALT model
Performance notes
An integrated finger brake lets the user control the blade's extension by feel, and the body is built about 20 percent more compact than DEWALT's comparison grip for easier handling. The blade carries fractional graphics for quicker reading and a durable coating meant to extend blade life, with a stated 13 foot max reach.
