Overview
Electricians, plumbers and remodelers working in dark corners get a DEWALT tape with a rechargeable light built into the case. A slide lock holds the stainless steel blade in place, and the ToughSeries case is made of plastic or metal alloy.
Lighting the work area from the tape itself saves juggling a flashlight while marking a cut. Blade width and the marking scale are not described, so it is hard to judge against a tape you already own.
Who it's for
Work in dim spaces, from under-sink cabinets to unfinished attics, is where the light earns its place. Shoppers who only measure in a well-lit shop gain little from the battery and the charging routine.
Pros and cons
- Built-in LED lights the measuring spot
- Recharges with the included USB cable
- Stainless steel blade
- Slide lock holds the blade out
- Blade width and markings not listed
- LED needs periodic recharging
- Case material described only as plastic or metal
Performance notes
Reading accuracy rests on the blade markings and end hook, held to the listed tolerance over each span of tape. Reach depends on blade stiffness, which sets how far you can extend it unsupported. The light runs only as long as its stored charge allows between USB top-ups.

Frequently asked questions
Is the DEWALT DWHT35625S a laser measure?
No. It is a tape measure with a stainless steel blade and a slide lock; the LED lights the work area rather than measuring distance.
