Overview
Hooking up an Xbox for a fast shooter or streaming from a Switch over USB-C, you get high refresh rates and very low lag from this ViewSonic projector. Optical zoom and keystone help it fit a room without moving furniture.
Brightness and gaming speed together make it work in living rooms where blackout is not possible. The lamp needs replacing sooner than laser light sources, and apps require a separate stick.
Who it's for
Gamers and movie fans with a living room and some ambient light get punch and speed. Viewers who want everything built in should look at smart projectors.
Pros and cons
- Very low input lag
- High refresh rate modes
- Bright enough for lit rooms
- Optical zoom plus keystone
- Lamp life is short
- No built-in streaming apps
- Stationary, not portable
Performance notes
Low lag comes from the processing path being trimmed for games, which matters most in fast shooters. Brightness from the lamp lets images hold up with some room light, though the lamp dims over its life.
