Overview
FishTrip's EWG (extra wide gap) hooks are sold in 50, 100, or 120 piece counts and marketed for bass fishing, a wide gap style built to pair with soft plastics like worms and creature baits.
Extra wide gap hooks are a bass fishing standard because the wider point to shank gap improves hookup ratio when the point has to punch through a bulky soft plastic bait and still catch the fish's mouth. Beyond the count options and the extra wide gap description, the listing gives no hook size, wire gauge, or finish, so confirm size fits your rigging before ordering.
- 50, 100, or 120 piece count options
- Extra wide gap (EWG) hook style
- Built for bass fishing
- Suited to soft plastic bait rigging
Who it's for
Bass anglers who rig soft plastics and want an EWG hook in bulk count options. Anglers needing a specific hook size or a different style, such as a straight shank hook, should note size details are not listed here.
Pros and cons
- Bulk count options of 50, 100, or 120 pieces
- Extra wide gap shape suited to soft plastic rigging
- Aimed specifically at bass fishing applications
- Hook size not specified in the listing
- Wire gauge and finish not given
- No material or coating details available
Performance notes
The extra wide gap shape keeps the hook point clear of a bulky soft plastic bait body, so the point can drive into the fish's mouth on the hookset instead of being blocked by the bait itself. That geometry is the main functional claim the title supports; without a listed hook size or wire gauge, matching it to a specific bait weight is left to the buyer.
