Overview
Upcycled hinoki wood cat litter from KOCHO made from Japanese cypress, sold as a 3.4 pound bag of lightweight pellets with a natural hinoki aroma and gentle clumping.
Hinoki wood litter sits in a different category from clay litter, it's lighter by volume and relies on the wood's natural cypress scent rather than added fragrance, which some cats and owners prefer over clay dust. The 3.4 pound bag is on the small side, worth factoring into cost per pound against a standard clay bag.
- 3.4 pound bag of pellets
- Upcycled hinoki wood material
- Natural cypress aroma
- Dust free, gentle clumping
Who it's for
Fits owners looking for a lightweight, dust free wood based litter with a natural scent rather than clay, particularly useful for cats sensitive to clay dust. Owners who need a large bulk bag to fill a bigger box will find the 3.4 pound size limiting.
Pros and cons
- Dust free pellet form
- Natural hinoki cypress scent, no added fragrance
- Lightweight compared to clay litter
- 3.4 pound bag is a small quantity
- Clumping is gentler than clay, may need more frequent scooping
Performance notes
The pellets are formed from upcycled hinoki wood and clump gently rather than forming the hard clumps typical of clay litter, with the natural cypress oil in the wood providing scent without added fragrance. Being wood based, it's also lighter to lift and pour than an equivalent volume of clay.
