Overview
A 500GB ultra-slim USB 3.0 external hard drive with an aluminum anti-interference shell, built for backups and game storage across PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox. Includes a USB-C adapter alongside the standard USB 3.0 cable, plus a 3-year warranty.
As with most portable HDDs, it's built to be used flat rather than dropped or handled roughly. It draws power over USB, so an unpowered port on a phone can drain battery during use.
- 500GB capacity on USB 3.0, includes USB-C adapter
- Read speeds up to 133MB/s, write up to 103MB/s
- Aluminum shell for heat dissipation and interference protection
- 3-year manufacturer warranty included
Who it's for
Suits someone who wants inexpensive extra storage for a laptop, PS4, or backups and doesn't mind an occasional disconnect during heavy use. Less suited to someone backing up thousands of small files regularly, since that workload runs slower than large sequential transfers.
Pros and cons
- Runs quiet and stays cool during extended use
- Plug and play on both Windows and Linux with no drivers needed
- Compact and light enough to carry daily without adding bulk
- One reported random disconnect during gaming sessions
- Small-file transfers, like phone backups, run noticeably slower
- Draws power over USB, which can drain an unpowered phone
Performance notes
The aluminum shell manages heat and interference while the drive stays quiet, something multiple owners specifically called out. One buyer's PS4 setup saw occasional random disconnects during play, though not on every session.
