A very fast full size SD card for cameras that record high bitrate video and long RAW bursts. Its top speeds need a UHS-II camera and reader, and older UHS-I gear runs it far slower.

Overview
Not a microSD for phones, the SanDisk Extreme PRO is a full size UHS-II card built for cameras that shoot high bitrate video and long bursts. Its second row of contacts carries the extra speed to compatible cameras and readers.
A sustained write floor high enough for the most demanding video modes means recordings do not stop mid clip. Every speed advantage disappears in UHS-I devices, which read it at the slower interface limit.
Who it's for
Pros and enthusiasts shooting cinema modes, sports bursts and RAW plus JPEG on current mirrorless bodies. Casual shooters on older cameras pay for speed they cannot reach.
Pros and cons
- Very high sustained write floor
- Fast offload to a UHS-II reader
- Large capacity for long recordings
- Rugged against water, shock and X-ray
- Full speed needs UHS-II devices
- Short warranty listed
- No card reader included
Performance notes
Video recording depends on the promised minimum write, not the peak figure, and its video class floor covers the heaviest codecs. Burst depth comes from the peak write clearing the camera buffer quickly. Read speed only reaches its maximum through a UHS-II reader.
