Overview
The probebi SG021 is a retractable mesh safety gate that extends up to 54 inches wide and 34 inches tall, marketed for both babies and dogs, with a double lock mechanism and no bottom rail to trip over.
Rather than a rigid panel gate, this is a retracting mesh screen that rolls back into its housing when not needed, aimed at doorways and stairways where a bulky metal gate would be in the way.
- Extends to 54 inches wide, 34 inches tall
- Retractable mesh, no bottom rail
- Double lock mechanism
- One handed operation
Who it's for
Works well for households with a toddler, a puppy, or both, needing a barrier at a doorway, stairway or hallway that disappears when not in use.
Pros and cons
- Retracts fully out of the way when not needed
- One handed open and close operation
- No bottom rail, so no trip hazard
- Installs in doorways, stairways and hallways alike
- Mesh may feel flimsy against larger, more energetic dogs
- Retraction can need a slow, careful pull to reset smoothly
- Mounting height above trim needs care or the gate will not close fully
