Overview
A laundry closet with room to build upward suits this Electrolux tower, which stacks a front load washer over-under an electric dryer in a single unit. Detergent and water premix before entering the drum, and the dryer senses moisture to set its time.
Full-size capacity in a single vertical footprint frees floor space in closets and condos. Installation is the hurdle: it needs a high voltage supply and serious care moving such a heavy unit.
Who it's for
Homeowners replacing a side by side pair with a single tall unit gain floor space without shrinking loads. Renters who move often will find it heavy to relocate.
Pros and cons
- Washer and dryer in one footprint
- Detergent premixing for stain removal
- Steam functions and quick refresh
- Drum light in the washer
- Needs a high voltage outlet
- Very heavy to move
- Short one-year warranty
Performance notes
Stain removal improves when detergent is dissolved before it reaches the clothes, which is what SmartBoost does. The dryer stops based on sensed moisture, so loads finish dry without running long.
