Worth it for the automatic motion detection and 360 degree rotation if those features matter to you, since fewer swings at this size offer both.

Overview
The Maxi-Cosi Cassia (model SW128HCOA) is a smart infant swing with a touch screen control panel, 360 degree rotation, and an automatic motion sensor that can activate the swing on its own when baby needs soothing.
Where a lot of swings just cycle through preset speeds, the Cassia's motion sensor is meant to notice when baby is fussing and start swinging without you reaching for a button. The touch panel handles 5 speeds and 12 melodies in one spot, and at about 10 lbs the unit is light enough to move between rooms. The newborn inlay and cover are removable and machine washable.
- Automatic motion detection sensor
- 360 degree rotation
- 5 speeds, 12 melodies
- About 10 lbs, portable between rooms
Who it's for
Parents who want hands-free soothing from an automatic motion sensor and don't mind paying for a touch screen swing, particularly if they're moving it between rooms often given the light weight.
Pros and cons
- Automatic motion sensor can start soothing hands-free
- 360 degree rotation
- About 10 lbs, easy to carry room to room
- Removable, washable newborn inlay and cover
- Touch screen control may be less durable than physical buttons
- Motion sensor is an added feature to learn, not a simple switch
Performance notes
The touch screen panel switches between 5 swing speeds and 12 melodies or nature sounds. The automatic motion detector, which has its own on/off switch, is meant to sense when baby needs extra soothing and start the swing on its own. The seat rotates a full 360 degrees and reclines to 2 positions, and the newborn inlay plus cover unclip for machine washing.
