More from this brandAll Monstrum rifle scopesOverview
Monstrum builds this compact prism scope around a glass prism and an etched, illuminated reticle instead of a projected dot. Motion sensing wakes the illumination when the rifle moves, and the sight mounts straight to a Picatinny rail.
An etched reticle stays sharp for shooters with astigmatism and still shows if the illumination is off. Fixed magnification makes very close, both-eyes-open shooting slower than with a true red dot.
Who it's for
Carbine and hunting rifle owners who find red dots smeared or starburst. Shooters needing a wide zoom range should choose a variable optic.
Pros and cons
- Etched reticle clear with astigmatism
- Shake Awake motion sensing
- Compact and lighter than before
- Mounts directly to Picatinny
- Battery type not listed
- Fixed magnification only
- Reticle listed as Duplex and BDC
Performance notes
Because the reticle is etched on the prism, focus depends on the eyepiece rather than a projected dot, which reduces blur for astigmatic eyes. Fixed magnification narrows the view, which governs speed on close moving targets.
