Overview
A kitchen table or desk becomes a small workshop with this Snap Circuits kit from Elenco. Kids snap together circuits to build a launcher, then try the other four projects, including a spinning wheel and a fan.
Kids learn how circuits, motors and air pressure work by building something that moves. The listing does not say what power source the kit needs, and the airplanes are folded from paper that is not named as included.
Who it's for
Kids from eight years old with an interest in STEM and a kitchen table to work on will get hours of use. Younger children or buyers wanting a launcher with no assembly should choose something else.
Pros and cons
- Five different projects
- Teaches circuits and motors
- Plastic snap-together parts
- Air pressure experiment included
- Power source not listed
- Paper not listed
- Requires building each time
- Piece count not listed
Performance notes
Snap-together circuits power a motor that launches the paper airplanes, saucers and balls, so the result depends on how the circuit is built. Another project levitates balls over a fan, which shows how air pressure can hold an object up.
