Overview
A stainless steel colander with an expandable rubber-gripped frame that extends from 13.4 to 21.3 inches to rest across most kitchen sinks, model OS01 from Balavina. Doubles as a countertop strainer on fold-out legs for rinsing produce or draining pasta.
The core idea is an over-sink strainer whose arms extend to fit different sink widths, rather than a fixed-size bowl, so it works across more sinks than a standard colander.
- Extends 13.4 to 21.3 inches to fit most sinks
- Fine mesh stainless steel basket
- Fold-out legs for countertop use
- Dishwasher safe, model OS01
Who it's for
Fits a household that wants one colander to replace several, used both spanning the sink and as a freestanding countertop strainer or mixing bowl. Someone who wants a heavier-gauge, premium-feel piece of stainless steel may find the build lighter than expected.
Pros and cons
- Not rated for heavy loads in the sink
- Color options are limited and one reviewer found them drab
