Overview
Wheels that rotate a quarter turn are the trick behind the Sharper Image Slideways Racer, letting the car slide sideways, spin in place and drive upright. In hover drift mode the wheels lie parallel to the floor for a gliding drift.
Stunt modes that a regular RC car cannot do are the reason to buy. Run time, charge time and top speed are not listed.
Who it's for
Kids who like showing off tricks in the living room or driveway fit here. Older hobbyists wanting speed figures and replaceable parts should look at hobby grade cars.
Pros and cons
- Three distinct driving modes
- Sideways slides and spins
- Responsive 2.4 GHz remote
- Rechargeable car battery

Performance notes
Rotating the wheels changes how they meet the floor: upright for racing, angled for crawl, and flat for the hover drift glide. The radio link gives quick response during stunt sequences.
