Overview
Panasonic built this HC-X camcorder for event, ENG and live production, pairing a large one-inch sensor with a wide-to-long zoom lens. This bundle adds memory cards, a spare battery, a carrying case and cleaning tools.
Pro outputs, log recording and a long zoom in a handheld body make it a capable tool for event and documentary crews. It is an import with only a dealer warranty, which matters for a camera at this level.
Who it's for
Weddings, sports, live streams and news-style shoots suit a camcorder with timecode and SDI. Hobbyists who just record family videos will find it more camera than they need.
Pros and cons
- Large one-inch sensor
- Ten-bit internal recording
- Long optical zoom with wide start
- Log and HLG profiles
- Import model, dealer warranty only
- Heavy bundle to carry
- Spec fields list mount and sensor errors
Performance notes
The large sensor balances depth of field and low-light sensitivity, and the long zoom covers tight rooms to distant stages without swapping lenses. Ten-bit log footage holds more grading room, so color work afterward has more latitude.
