Overview
Three Deco nodes link wirelessly or over Ethernet to spread one sixth generation WiFi network across the home, with AI roaming handing devices between them. The Deco app sets everything up, and HomeShield adds basic security and parental controls.
Easy app setup and wired backhaul support make it a dependable fix for dead zones. Dual band design means speeds drop in far rooms when nodes link wirelessly.
Who it's for
Households with spotty WiFi and many devices get coverage that is easy to manage. Heavy users on very fast plans should look at tri-band or newer systems.
Pros and cons
- Three nodes for big homes
- Wired backhaul support
- Two Gigabit ports per node
- Voice assistant control
- Dual band only
- Speed drops over wireless hops
- Advanced HomeShield needs a subscription
Performance notes
With wireless backhaul, the same two bands carry node links and device traffic, so throughput falls with each hop. Running Ethernet between nodes restores full speed.
