Overview
Calyx Interiors makes a 34 inch by 64 inch bamboo Roman shade in Ceylon Chestnut with a built-in valance and a wood bottom rail. It is semi-sheer and light filtering rather than a privacy or blackout shade, mounted with a cordless pulley lift.
The listing is specific about measuring: order the exact size you want, since there is no deduction built in, and use the widest and tallest points of the window opening to avoid light gaps. The valance and wood bottom rail give it a finished, tailored look rather than a bare roll-up shade. Calyx also flags that natural bamboo color can vary slightly piece to piece and that it is indoor use only.
- 34 in W x 64 in H bamboo shade in Ceylon Chestnut
- Cordless pulley lift via the wood bottom rail
- 7 inch valance covers mounting hardware
- Semi-sheer, light-filtering natural bamboo weave
Who it's for
Good for someone furnishing a living room, dining area, or similar daytime space who wants a natural woven look and is comfortable measuring their own window precisely.
Pros and cons
- Semi-sheer and light filtering, not a privacy or blackout shade
- No deduction built into sizing, so measuring error shows as light gaps
- One reviewer found the color darker and more light-blocking than expected
- Indoor use only, and color can vary slightly between pieces
Performance notes
Because there is no size deduction, an accurately measured window is what keeps light gaps to a minimum at the edges.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Calyx Interiors bamboo shade a blackout shade?
No.
How do I get an accurate fit since there's no size deduction?
Order the exact size you want the finished shade to be. Measure the window width at the top, middle, and bottom, and the height on the left, middle, and right, using the largest height measurement.
How is it operated?
It uses a cordless pulley system built into the wood bottom rail: pull down or push up on the rail itself to raise or lower the shade, with no side cord to manage.
