Overview
GORUCK makes the Rucker as a rectangular fitness ruck pack with a zipper closure and a shoulder harness. The soft shell is made of nylon, and black embroidery completes the plain look.
A load rating well above ordinary daypacks is what draws weighted walkers to this ruck. The limitation is that it is water resistant only and that the listing says nothing on plates or inserts.
Who it's for
Fitness walkers who carry weight on purpose get a pack built for that role, in a size that stays close to the back. Shoppers wanting overnight capacity, full waterproofing or a plate included should look further.
Pros and cons
- High recommended load rating
- Water resistant nylon shell
- Zipper closure with shoulder harness
- Separate pockets and compartments
- Water resistant, not waterproof
- Care instructions not listed
- Weight plate not listed as included
Performance notes
A ruck carries its load high on the back through a shoulder harness, so how tightly the pack holds the weight decides comfort over distance. Nylon with no stretch resists bulging under heavy loads, and the soft shell sheds light rain rather than sealing out heavy rain.
