Overview
KornerBatl's KB14-CG005 is a drop-down safe meant to be mounted under a nightstand, desk, or cabinet rather than set on top of one, opening by fingerprint, passcode, or key. Mounting can go to the left, right, or top of the fixture it is attached to.
The drop-down format is the distinguishing feature here: instead of lifting a lid, the front panel drops open once unlocked, keeping the safe hidden until it is used. An LCD readout tracks temperature, humidity, and battery level together, a step beyond the plain battery indicator most nightstand safes offer, useful for anyone storing a firearm somewhere humidity could be a concern.
- Stores up to 100 fingerprints
- 4 to 8 digit passcode option
- 7.68 x 3.15 x 15.55 inches, 8.16 lbs
- USB-C emergency power port
Who it's for
Suited to someone who wants a handgun mounted out of sight under furniture with fast fingerprint access, in a home, office, or closet setting. Not built for anyone needing to store multiple firearms or a rifle.
Pros and cons
- Drop-down mount hides the safe until opened
- Three mounting orientations: left, right, or top
- LCD shows temperature, humidity, and battery together
- Fingerprint, passcode, and key access in one unit
- Requires mounting to furniture, not freestanding
- Sized for a single handgun, not a collection
Performance notes
Fingerprint access is rated under 0.1 seconds with storage for up to 100 prints, backed by a 4 to 8 digit passcode and physical keys as the two fallback paths. Because it mounts to the underside of furniture in one of three orientations, positioning depends on what it is being fixed to rather than sitting free like a box safe. The LCD panel reporting temperature, humidity, and battery is a maintenance aid rather than a security feature, flagging conditions before they affect what is stored inside.
