Overview
A 5-piece pack of balsa wood stick-style slip bobbers from THKFISH, sized around 0.7 inches at the labeled 3# size and finished in red.
Balsa wood is lighter and more sensitive to light bites than plastic floats, and the stick shape typical of slip bobbers rides more stably in current than a round bobber. The listed size code, 3# at 0.7 inches, points to a specific diameter in the THKFISH sizing system rather than an overall length.
- 5 pieces per pack
- Balsa wood construction
- Stick-style slip bobber
- Red finish
Who it's for
Suits anglers using slip-bobber rigs for finesse presentations in rivers or lakes with some current, where bite sensitivity matters. Not the choice for bank fishing with heavy bait where a bigger foam float is easier to see.
Pros and cons
- Balsa wood gives more bite sensitivity than plastic floats
- Slip design allows quick depth adjustment
- 5-piece pack leaves spares on hand
- Balsa is less durable than ABS or foam over time
- Small size limits visibility at distance
Performance notes
Balsa's low density lets a light bite tip the stick float with less resistance than plastic, and the slip design allows depth adjustment by sliding a stop bead up the line rather than fixing the float in place. The pack ships as 5 pieces, enough to rig a couple of rods with spares on hand.
