Overview
The NutriMill Impact Compact is a 1200-watt electric grain mill with stainless steel impact milling heads, an 8-cup hopper and a 12-cup flour canister. It suits home bakers who mill their own wheat or grain flour on a regular basis.
Reviewer accounts of wattage vary (one cites 2500W against the listed 1200W spec), a reminder to go by the manufacturer's own numbers rather than reviewer memory. The parts nest together for storage, which matters on a counter that already has a stand mixer and an oven. Buyers comparing it to stone mills didn't report a meaningful taste difference in the flour.
- 1200-watt motor for hard grains
- 8-cup hopper, 12-cup canister
- Stainless steel impact milling heads
- Cyclone air filtration system
Who it's for
Good for home bread bakers who want fresh flour on a regular basis and value counter storage over sheer top-end capacity. Less suited to anyone who mainly wants very fine flour at the lowest speed settings, or who is grinding a single small batch occasionally.
Pros and cons
- Mills several cups of grain quickly
- Parts nest together for storage
- No assembly required out of box
- Quieter than expected for a mill
- Low speed settings feed grain poorly
- Finest flour setting hard to achieve
- Top housing needs a brush to clean
- Not a true stone-mill texture
